Of all the many varieties of trees that grow here, I generally use mango, monkey pod, Milo, and one of my favorites Koa. I love and respect everyone of these trees and I feel fortunate to have the honor to create art with them.

One of the many reasons I feel so blessed making my living carving wood is due to the fact that I live in Hawaii. The trees and the wood just like everything else that grows here on the islands, especially the people, is filled with spirit, mana, and incredible beauty.
Even though my heritage is European and Native American, I consider it a great honor to be able to carry on this ancient tradition of carving wood.
Inside each piece contains Such colorful, swirling, grain and character that is rarely found anywhere else.

My favorite wood, Koa, grown only in Hawaii. It’s called the mahogany of the Pacific.

It is with great reverence and respect that I collect, air dry and carve this wood.
