"Honu is the Hawaiian word for sea turtle. The are considered by ancient Hawaiian folk lore to be a sign of good fortune and a symbol of the Goddess. There are thirteen panels on the back of their shell representing the thirteen moons in one year. Twenty eight panels surround the outside of the shell representing the cycle of the Goddess. The are graceful creatures that bless the ocean with their beauty.
